Basic Paver Installation
- Remove all grass and root systems. (Spray with Roundup and put down a weed barrier)
- Add 4-6 IN of commercial road base or crushed limerock. Tamp down.
- Add 1 IN of sand. Screet with a 2x4 making it all level. Do not tamp or walk on it at this point.
- Begin at a straight edge and start laying your pavers, working over and down.
- Add more sand to the top, tamp and sweep into the cracks. Brush extra sand away.
- Once pavers are lain, dig a trench and pour cement around edges, or use another type of edging to lock pavers in place.
- You may need to add a bit more sand after the first heavy rain, but afterwards you will be set and your patio will retain it's stability for many many years to come!
* Note: We carry bags of base and sand, but if you have a large project, it is recommended you obtain your own road base.
